Product Reviews
By Graham Waltho

This is an excellent product that I have previous experience of. Probably three years ago, I gave our drive two coats of this Tarmac Restorer. It really does the job. Although showing signs of wear now, the drive has looked good, and has been given a hard wearing surface coating. Easy to apply. Recently bought some more, to apply, likely, in the Spring. You need to be confident about the likely weather conditions. Strongly recommended.

Very pleased with the Tarmaseal. I thought our drive was in good condition but once applying I realised it was average. Once I developed my technique for application the tarmaseal covered really well. Only did one coat this time but will monitor and consider doing again next year onwards. Very good product.

Service very good from order to delivery. The tarmac restorer product was easy to apply and coverage was pretty good considering the bad surface. Finish is great and has raised several good comments from neighbours and visitors..

Product Application

Preparation Guidelines for Tarmac RESTORER

  1. If Algae or Green Growth is present, a pre-treatment with Green CLEAR is advised.

  2. Before any application of the Tarmac RESTORER, ensure the surface is thoroughly cleaned and loose stones are swept away.

  3. Clean the tarmac by jet washing with reduced pressure to avoid damage to the surface.

  4. Carry out any tarmac repairs that may be required use Crack Repair Compound for holes and cracks. Cold Lay Repair for larger potholes.

Application Guidelines for Tarmac RESTORER

  1. Apply Tarmac RESTORER to a clean, dry tarmac surface with temperatures above 12 degrees with no rain is forecast for at least 3 hours after the application of the Tarmac RESTORER has finished.

  2. For best results, it is advisable to use a long-handled Roller Set with a medium pile head. A soft broom or tarmac paintbrush can be used for borders or hard to get to areas, but generally, a Roller Set is best.

  3. Two coats of Tarmac RESTORER are recommended. Average coverage ratios are 40-60sq.* metres per 20 Litre drum (60 sq. metres if the tarmac is in good condition but has lost colour and faded over time; 40 sq. metres for poorer quality tarmac surfaces).

  4. Prior to commencing application, thoroughly shake the container. This will ensure the pigment and the slip-enhancing additive within the product are mixed thoroughly and not settled at the bottom of the container.

  5. Leave 2-4 hours between coats and shake the container each time before pouring into tray or roller.

  6. Areas adjacent to neighbours driveways, flower beds or lawns should be masked off to avoid unwanted coverage.

  7. After application, keep vehicles off for 24 hours and foot traffic for 2-4 hours.

Maintenance Guidelines for Tarmac RESTORER

  1. Any ongoing maintenance should be restricted to a gentle sweep and a washdown once or twice a year.

  2. The Tarmac RESTORER itself is a very durable product, but as with any other external product, it will require re-application from time to time. For Tarmac Driveways that receive an average amount of traffic, a top-up coat of Tarmac RESTORER is recommended, on average, every 5 years.

  3. For Tarmac Driveways that are more heavily trafficked or are in very shady, damp conditions, more frequent top-up coats may be necessary.

Product FAQs

Q: How long does the temperature have to be above 12 degrees for the paint to set effectively? Thanks

Bradley

A: The Tarmaseal is a fast drying product, it can generally be applied through to around Mid-October. At 12 degrees, on a 'drying' day, that is not damp, we would suggest the drying time would be 3-4 hours. Hope that helps.

Response from Nigel

Q: Hi - I bought a 20l supply of black tarmaseal from you a few weeks back. I’ve applied one coat - can you let me know the shelf life of the opened container - many thanks - Chris

Chris Hinchey

A: Two coats of Tarmaseal are recommended to be applied. Tarmaseal should be used within 1yr of the manufacture date. Hope that helps.

Response from George

Q: We have an area of 800 meter squared how much of your product would we need please.

Gav

A: You would need approximately 25 drums of tarmaseal to coat this area twice. Other factors such as surface condition can effect the coverage ratios. Please call our office on 01268 722500 and one of our staff will be able to give you all the advice you need.
